What is Nutrition Response Testing?
Heading 6
Nutrition Response Testing is a precise, non-invasive system that analyzes the body to uncover hidden health issues.
When corrected through safe, natural nutritional methods, the body can begin to repair itself and maintain long-term wellness.
The Practitioner contacts these areas with his/her own hand. With the other hand, he/she will test the muscle of your extended arm. If the organ/area being contacted is “active” the nervous system will respond by reducing energy to the extended arm, and the arm will weaken and drop. This drop signifies underlying stress or dysfunction, which can be affecting your health.

3 Phases of Healing

Phase 1: Fine Tuning
Welcome to your nutritional supplement journey! As you your program, expect around four to six weekly office visits to fine-tune your plan and ensure optimal results. During these sessions, we'll review your diet and provide guidance on any improvements to maximize your gains. If currently taking any vitamins or supplements, please continue, and we'll evaluate them together at the right time.

Phase 2: Observation
Once your personalized program is stabilized, you’ll enter a 12-week Healing and Observation Phase. During this time, we closely monitor how your organs and systems are responding to your nutrition plan to ensure your body is healing as expected. At the end of the 12 weeks, we re-evaluate your progress to measure your recovery rate and provide any additional recommendations needed to keep you moving toward optimal health.

Phase 3: Maintenance
After reaching an optimal level of health, maintaining your progress is key. This is done through routine Nutrition Response Testing visits, with frequency tailored to your needs — from monthly to annually. Over time, visits become less frequent as your body stabilizes. Maintenance programs usually require fewer supplements than the initial phases, helping protect the health improvements you’ve achieved and supporting long-term wellness.
Nutritional Consulting

As part of Designed Clinical Nutrition with Nutrition Response Testing©, we guide you in making better food choices to accelerate your health goals. Since diet makes up about 70% of overall health, tracking meals with a food log helps us provide personalized tips. Testing may also reveal foods your body reacts negatively to — even hidden ingredients you might not realize. With guidance on balancing proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and healthier versions of your favorite meals, this nutritional support ensures you achieve the best possible results from your program.

Meet The Team

Lisa James
My name is Lisa (Brindley) James. I am a West Branch native, born and raised on a dairy farm in the area. My parents and older sister continue to operate the 3 generation farm locally. As a young child I was always fascinated with how the body worked, healthy living and eating habits. I was also an athlete for the majority of school age years from basketball and volleyball to track and field and cross country. I became very interested in the athletic side of healthcare and made my mind up early that I was going to be a physical therapist after having some first hand experience as an athlete with a knee injury. I started off my health career as a nurse aide after passing my boards as a senior in high school, I was able to use that experience to help guide the rest of my health care education. After high school I attended Alma College where I majored in exercise and health science and participated in track and cross country. I then attended Elon University where I received my doctorate in physical therapy in 2012. I moved back to the West Branch area in 2013, worked at a local physical therapy office, got married to my husband Matthew and have 2 amazing children, Piper and Rowan. After working as a physical therapist for a few years I began to feel the strain of not being able to help people to the degree I thought I should be able to with my training and background. I began to feel frustrated with the lack of results and gains from my clients despite additional training and certifications in the field. I started working with a nutritionist back in 2017 to address some minor health concerns I was dealing with and was interested in some more holistic approaches to helping with my symptoms. I fell in love with the process and began my journey of training and learning about nutrition response testing. I began working with clients in October of 2020 in a small office space I rented from a local chiropractor 1-2 days per week. I quickly became busy and realized the need for my services in our area was bigger than what my current space and time provided. In 2022, I renovated and moved into my current space and hired on additional front desk help that led me to working full time and providing this amazing service to the local and surrounding communities. Wellness truly is possible in a seemingly unhealthy world!
